He doesn't shrug the hand off. He doesn't even stiffen much. The situation was what it was, and he'd rather not have a repeat of any part of it.
Still getting used to the whole 'friend' thing but at least Ravagers could dispense their moments of casual bro-ish affection. That part wasn't too foreign.
"I ain't sure. I ain't talked to anyone that's tried to go past the city limits, either. I figure if we knew what was out there we'd have a better idea of what to do in here."
It's about the last lingering dredges of what Wei Wuxian's used to offering; hugs are being trained back into him by a son or two, and a close friend's grief.
He clucks his tongue against his teeth, considering. "I only feel edges to what's going on, all this energy. I don't know what kind of 'out there' exists, but we could try looking." Traveling seemed to be oddly circular to his senses, and that's difficult to really anticipate. When can he convince the reinforcements of a boundary to allow him to go a direction the boundary refused access?
"Yeah, let me know if you need some company to investigate. See how far someone makes it. To be honest I don't think nobody should go alone. We need a witness."
Someone to try to leave, someone to watch. Or someone to force their way through. Someone to drag the other back. If not him, that sort of thing shouldn't be tried alone.
"Two or three sets of clear eyes on the task makes better sense," he says, agreeing without hesitation. Once upon a time he might have walked off to do as needed doing, and hoped that those he trusted would be by them, but not stay his hand, not ask for help before he moved.
He's older now, and wiser, if not always better. He won't turn down help, and won't march off alone to face whatever comes, unless there is no other response possible.
They've had a lot to change their behavior. Yondu has no one to impress. It's made him more personable. But he's always been prone to wanting to work with people. Maybe it's instinct. Maybe it's his training. You survived longer if you helped your peers. Maybe it's taking care of a crew of ungrateful misfits.
Either way, having people that he wants to look out for makes a world of difference.
"Give me about five minutes to switch out staff here, an' I'll tag along with ya."
Wei Wuxian, who has a very hard time not looking out for the people around him, is of course more adapting to the model of don't do everything on your own. It's easier these days, where he needs help navigating what he's even facing day to day, particularly in places like this.
Illusion or otherwise. It'd been like last mission, only here, false memories helped in unexpected ways.
He waves a hand to Yondu, tossing him a grin. "Sure, sure, take the time you need! I'm not rushing around these days." Until he had to, in which case, then his feet fairly flew, even while he couldn't fly by sword anymore.
He goes about a changeover, which is easy as calling out the other manager from an office area, some guy he has never met in his life but he's been convinced that he knew him for years and years. Awkward now. But he tells him he's out, that he's gonna go talk to their accountant. Legitimate excuse as he grabs his leather coat and heads out to join Wuxian.

He really wants to know what they have to expect.

Feel free to timeskip or assume or whatever.
He pats him on the back.
"Alright, we're good."
