"I wish I could tell ya that I hope ya don't... But if you're stuck on this train, then it's gonna happen. A li'l bit by a li'l bit."
And he hates that. He hates that he doesn't know what happens when people walk off the platform, what happens to them. Or if they just go somewhere and linger. He doesn't want that, either.
"Villanizin' us Voidtreckers but damn if ain't hard e-damn-nough on its own." And just dig the hole in people like him even deeper. "I think that's why I keep tellin' people to just say their shit to each other before they don't got a chance no more."
"You are aware you turned real red talkin' about someone earlier, right? I don't know if that was fake world shit or real shit. But means you might have somethin' stored up in there."
He frowns to himself.
"Eh, I talk a big damn game but I didn't tell my boy how I felt until I was about to die. Don't figure I'll ever tell the fella I thought real highly of for a little while what my opinion be on him, either." He just figured he'd give up there, rather than ruin some perfectly good moments even more.
"Two? Hell, you're impressin' people, ain't yah?" He thumps his shoulder. "Guess that's gonna be real awkward when ever'body's in their right minds, though, ain't it. Not captivated, like ya said."
Welp. Hopefully it felt true for all forms of 'em.
"I don't think my boy actually liked me all that much." In fact, he knows he didn't. "But I was proud of 'im anyway. An' if your two boys don't wanna stab ya then you're already a step ahead of his choice in love interests. Kept aimin' for people what might want to beat his ass."
"Yeah.... yeah... well luckily half the train is that way so no one's gonna notice how strange things are. I mean, I only did 'cause I'm riled up right now." Hyperfocus can do that. Though it's a lie, he absolutely would have noticed at any other time. But y'know, maybe if it helps the kid he'll just say it.
"Is it the one which was gettin' married or somethin'?... I ain't got the best moral opinions on that. I'm a 'go for it while you're still livin' guy."
He shrugs helplessly. His opinions aren't always the best ones but he's all about seizing the day, good or bad.
"I was real attached to a married man. He never felt the same about me or if he did, he didn't let on. But it can mess with ya if you drag somethin' around an' don't do much about it... Which ain't sayin' don't go for the other fella? Just sayin' you're real young, go do whatever the hell ya want."
"Uhhhh, yeah." Prompto said with a little nod. "It's not really like...I mean I don't know. What he really things." He clarified. "But it's...it was always going to be this way. He wasn't ever a choice. Even if he wasn't getting married. I mean, that wouldn't happen, but I mean even if he wasn't getting married right now."
He sighed a little bit. "He's royalty. I mean. He was always gonna..." The fact he happened to love him was just...inconvenient.
"I dunno. See what he says when he's normal. Probably back on the train. I figure with two people real invested in each other's futures, ya need to know what to do. If you wanna stay a team."
He frowns a little harder. "Nothin' worse than losin' your team. Messin' that up. Whatever ya decide, hold onto that."
"Oh no, there's no way we'd stop being a team, even some kinda embarrassing conversation. We've known each other for five yeras it's just...no, we couldn't." Prompto said, shaking his head.
"Also, the promise I made, my job, it's for life. Until I die." He explained.
"I guess no matter what ya decide you got a commitment then."
In Yondu's eyes, he still thinks he should go for it. All of it. The more the merrier. And actually this was a better distraction than thinking of all the hell they'd been going through.
"By the way, if you get to 'em... I'm sorta puttin' together a plan to try an' call for back-up. I got an idea, kinda risky though." He gestures loosely. "I got some good people what can help. Pretty sure it won't go tits up but if it does I'll take the fall an' not snitch on nobody. But to do so I'd have to ditch my SCA so my mind snaps back under all this."
"Yeah." Prompto said with a nod. "I was really serious about that vow. I mean, I can't think of a Crownsguard ever being allowed to break it, even if they wanted to." He didn't want to.
He seemed to look a bit more serious now, at the talk of planning. "That is pretty risky." Prompto was cheerful, but while he'd underestimate himself, he wasn't a slouch in the military/combat department like he might've thought.
"Do you need a spotter? I mean. I could try and get your SCA back on you."
"I shoulda taught more people lockpickin' before we did this. Ask Jou ifn' you see 'im. He took to it real well. I gave him a decent set of picks. So if somethin' goes wrong, see if you can find my SCA an' have the kid help bust me."
But he's hoping, really hoping, it doesn't come to that. He's mostly picking based on what abilities he knows right offhand. He can't exactly go advertising it, considering how communications are monitored.
"I'll definitely keep that in mind. I know it's usually Red Team that does all the covert stuff an' got the people equipped to handle it. But sometimes other teams need it for personal stuff. It's nice to know who can get called on."
He's lucky for the blue team forms. Gave him some idea of skills each of the members had.

"I've never lost anyone like that so...I got lucky that way."
That was probably a matter of debate, really, he just didn't have anyone to lose in the first place.

And he hates that. He hates that he doesn't know what happens when people walk off the platform, what happens to them. Or if they just go somewhere and linger. He doesn't want that, either.

Well there are a couple of people he'd miss and he'd lose it if Noctis left, fret with worry, but...
But.
"I don't...think there's anything to say really."

He frowns to himself.

"That sounds like...well it's nice you had a son. I'm sure he knew especially if he loved you anyway. Kids...do that."

That was no reason not to wake them, however. He could deal with being embarrassed, he was used to it.
"I don't think they want to stab me. I uh...I mean.. one of them isn't really an option?"
no subject
"Is it the one which was gettin' married or somethin'?... I ain't got the best moral opinions on that. I'm a 'go for it while you're still livin' guy."

He pulls a face.

Why would he need to know how to pick locks? No reason...
"I don't have any picks right now but I could get some. I don't think I know Jou." He admitted.

He's lucky for the blue team forms. Gave him some idea of skills each of the members had.

Also, he never put lockpicking on his form, why would he? It was a minor thing that Cor had hammered into him.
"The Marshal taught me stuff like that. Kinda have to be able to do all kinds of things."
