"The whole universe is my home. I couldn't ever settle nowhere for good. But I'll find y'all, I promise. I'll come lookin' as soon as I'm able."
He's even got plans. Find his girls. Find some kind of travelling job. Find Soldat. Maybe get the kids into a school that accepts people like them. That's just the top of the list, though. He has to take the train to the next stop, but once they get there he's out and finding the most independent way he can.
He leans in and gives Bulma a scratchy kiss on the cheek. "You get back to your family and tell 'em some fun stories about me." He'd believe it, if he knew what she was thinking about Vegeta. He even worries about how this one's gonna handle his return- he's not saying that out loud, though.
Thankfully Vegeta hasn't told her his worries about his return - she'll be angry to know he'd kept it from her, of course, but for the moment Bulma's ignorance is allowing her to be excited for them both to go home. Vegeta to his Bulma, and her to her Vegeta, who will no doubt spend as much time as he possibly can in private to fuss about where she's been and how she is, now.
Bulma sighs even as he kisses her cheek, fighting the urge to frown at not getting her way.
Yes, she's happy that he can live as freely as he wants, but there is no small part of her that kind of hoped he'd just agree. "I will. Just wait until you can meet my Universe's Trunks. You'll think he's a whole different kid."
He's lucky he's a mama's boy, is what she's saying.
"Seein' all these alternate universe folks I met? I'll be fully ready for it."
He might have hoped, somehow, that he'd be able to have Vegeta and Bulma together. The ones that knew him that is. That he could slide right into some kind of uncle role whenever he rode in and brought the kids something. But he's quick to accept things going worse rather than better.
He pulls his last little Ravager badge from his pocket, the ones that Della made for him way back when, and slips it into her hand. "Just in case it takes me a while to get there, I want ya to have somethin' to remember me by."
